
On Sunday morning, a devastating bus accident occurred on the N1 near Roux Park, Worcester, claiming the lives of at least eight people, including six minors.
The Western Cape government has confirmed that the incident involved a bus that was traveling from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town, which overturned at approximately 07h15.

Emergency Teams Respond to the Scene
Western Cape Mobility Minister Isaac Sileku expressed his condolences and provided updates about the ongoing situation.
“Preliminary reports suggest that eight individuals have died, six of whom were minors. Numerous passengers have suffered injuries, ranging in severity from serious to minor,” Sileku remarked.
Emergency response teams swiftly mobilized to deliver medical aid to the injured and to manage the accident scene.

“This tragedy is heart-wrenching, and our thoughts are with the families and friends mourning their losses today. We also wish those injured a quick and full recovery,” Sileku added.
