
An attempted hijacking took place early Sunday morning in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, leaving a Good Samaritan injured. The incident occurred around 02:31 on Jabu Ngcobo Road when a man was shot while assisting a stranded motorist.
Attempted Hijacking
According to reports, a female driver was en route to Ndwedwe, KZN, when her white VW Polo sedan suffered a flat tire.

A passing motorist stopped to assist when the situation escalated. A white Nissan NP200 bakkie, whose registration plates were not identified, obstructed both vehicles as its occupants attempted to rob the stranded motorist and hijack one of the cars.

During the conflict, the Good Samaritan who came to help was shot in the arm. The suspects quickly fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.
Investigation Underway
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on the scene following reports of the shooting. The injured individual received treatment for his injuries at the location before being transported to a medical facility for further care.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, working to apprehend the suspects involved.
