TEAM EUROPE jubilantly celebrated after their victory in the Mosconi Cup.
Europe defeated Team USA with a score of 11-6, marking their fifth consecutive championship in Florida.
Jayson Shaw achieved a dominant 5-0 victory over rival captain Skyler Woodward, extending the continent’s lead to five points and setting the stage for their night at 10-5.
Fedor Gorst was able to secure a point, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz followed up by narrowly defeating Woodward 5-4, sealing the win.
As Ruiz pocketed the final ball, he and his teammates celebrated by dancing atop the table to the sounds of ‘Freed From Desire’ before a disheartened US snooker crowd.
This marked a significant achievement for Shaw, who lifted the trophy in his inaugural stint as captain.
The Scot remarked: “I want to express my gratitude to everyone who came to support us.
“This journey has been challenging and demanded much more effort this year. We trained extensively leading up to this event.
“It was a pleasure to have them on my team, and I’m eager for the next opportunity.”
Team USA captain Woodward acknowledged the prowess of his opponents while also expressing pride in his own team’s performance.
