Randy Moss, the NFL Hall of Famer and ESPN analyst, is scaling back his live television engagements due to health concerns.
Moss plays a vital role on the panel for ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.
The legendary wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings briefly mentioned his health concerns during the broadcast on December 1, in response to viewers’ worries about the yellow tint in his eyes.
“I ask all prayer warriors to keep me and my family in your thoughts as we navigate these challenging times. I noticed people were commenting about my eyes last week,” Moss said.
“I’m dealing with something internal, and I am determined to overcome it.
“I have an outstanding team of doctors and a supportive family surrounding me.”
Following this announcement, Moss decided to take an extended leave of absence from the show to prioritize his health, according to ESPN.
“For nearly ten years, Randy has been a cherished member of the team, continuously enhancing ‘Countdown’ with his knowledge and enthusiasm,” the network stated in their announcement.
“He has the full support of ESPN, and we anticipate his return when he is prepared.”
NFL fans have shown their support for Moss, expressing well wishes for his recovery.
“We’re all praying for you, Randy!” one supporter commented.
“An NFL legend, wishing him a quick recovery and hoping to see him back on air soon!” another wrote.
“Ugh. Wishing nothing but the best for Randy Moss!” a third fan remarked.
“This is hard to see. Sending prayers for Randy,” a fourth supporter added.
