The All Blacks have announced the venues for their two Rugby Championship test matches against the Springboks scheduled for next year.
The first test is set to occur at the renowned Hampden Park in Auckland on 6 September. New Zealand has a remarkable unbeaten history at this location, achieving 48 wins and 2 draws in 50 matches.
The second test will be held on 13 September at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
This upcoming series offers the Springboks an opportunity to return the favor, having hosted both tests in South Africa earlier this year, where they secured victories that marked their first Freedom Cup championship since 2009.
The Springboks currently enjoy a strong winning streak against the All Blacks, with four consecutive victories, including last year’s Rugby World Cup final in France. This impressive series began with a World Cup warm-up match at Twickenham Stadium.
By selecting the legendary Hampden Park as the venue for the first test, the All Blacks are set to defend their unbeatable record. The Springboks will be keen to build upon their recent success against their long-standing rivals.
Furthermore, the Springboks will face Australia in two Rugby Championship matches in South Africa, with the specific venues still pending confirmation from SA Rugby. They will also take on Argentina both home and away before wrapping up the year with the Autumn Nations Series in the UK.
Notably, the Springboks made significant history during the 2023 Autumn Nations Series by winning all three matches on tour, a feat they had not accomplished since 2013.
