
Johannesburg – The African National Congress (ANC) has triumphantly regained Ward 30 in Roossenekal, Sekhukhune, Limpopo, securing an impressive 71% of the vote in the latest by-elections.
“Following a stellar performance in a series of by-elections across the country, the ANC celebrates another significant victory in the recent by-elections held in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality,” remarked spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri in an official statement.
“The ANC achieved 71% of the votes in Ward 30, Roossenekal, Sekhukhune, which represents a notable increase from 37%.”
The election results were as follows:
- African National Congress: 71% (up from 37%)
- Economic Freedom Fighters: 22% (down from 47%)
- MK Party: 6%
- MAC: 1% (down from 2%)
- Bolsheviks: <1%
- TRUTH: <1%
This victory is particularly significant as it marks a clear reclaiming of the Ward from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
“This success is a strong testament to the community’s confidence in the ANC, showcasing the resilience of our movement and the electorate’s trust in the ANC to deliver essential services and establish an effective local government that meets its service delivery obligations,” the statement highlighted.
“We encourage communities to join forces with the ANC, to reclaim lost ground, work together towards a common goal of improved living standards, and enhance the quality of life.”
