The Placepot is a betting option whereby you select a horse to finish in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.
You can choose multiple horses per race – your stake is based on the number of selections in each race. Thus, for stakes, it’s 2x2x2x1x2x2, totaling 32 lines.
You can place any stake beginning at 5p a line, which totals £1.60. If you stake 10p a line, it comes to £3.20, and so forth. As long as at least one horse in each race finishes in a placed position, you’ll receive a payout!

Cheltenham Placepot tips – Friday, December 13th
LEG 1: That’s Nice, Country Mile
THAT’S NICE is primed to take full advantage of the 7lb allowance granted over the boys, demonstrating impressive promise after her debut victory at Warwick last month. Nico De Boinville hardly needed to push her as she secured a clever win, and she can build on that strong start.
COUNTRY MILE showcased a solid performance in a Haydock Grade 2 last month, though he lost ground at the final flight. This firmer ground should favor the Skelton runner, who has significant potential for improvement.
LEG 2: Caldwell Potter, Jango Baie
CALDWELL POTTER began to validate his hefty purchase price with a convincing victory on his chase debut at Carlisle 12 days ago. He jumped impressively and is anticipated to make significant progress from that run. Previously a Grade 1 contender over hurdles, he appears hard to beat.
JANGO BAIE was also a strong performer over hurdles and disappointing finished second at Aintree last seen. Nicky Henderson has been providing positive updates regarding his schooling.
LEG 3: Valgrand, Tintintin
VALGRAND is expected to feel much more comfortable at this distance, having kicked off the season with a Grade 2 win on the Old course. He powered home by 17 lengths there but was outclassed by the potentially exceptional Potters Charm over 2m5f last time here. Though carrying top weight, his initial rating could be generous, and he performs well on good ground.
TINTINTIN impressed with a strong fourth-place finish in the Greatwood Hurdle here last month. He returns from the same mark, providing solid place prospects once more.

LEG 4: Chianti Classico
CHIANTI CLASSICO possesses enough class to carry weight after his impressive comeback win at Ascot last month. He displayed his talents by winning the Ultima at this year’s Festival and put in a solid performance in an Aintree Grade 1. His exceptional jumping ability is his hallmark, and trainer Kim Bailey has begun the season with energy.
LEG 5: Shan Blue, Shakem Up’Arry
SHAN BLUE had several strong performances toward the end of last season and delivered a promising fourth on his comeback at Bangor last time. He traveled well for a significant part of the race in challenging conditions and will appreciate the expected better ground. Despite being inconsistent, this marks his first foray into a veterans’ race, which might finally bring out his best from a lower mark.
SHAKEM UP’ARRY tends to perform well following a break, having triumphed in the Festival Plate during his last Cheltenham visit. While he carries an additional 6lbs today, he remains a tough competitor.
LEG 6: Mister Coffey, Delta Work
MISTER COFFEY gets one final shot from me to secure a victory over fences. He returned well after a nine-month layoff to produce a strong performance on this cross-country course last time. Although he finished a solid second, the winner had already pulled away. With Nico De Boinville now understanding his stamina, he can position the Nicky Henderson chaser closer to the pace, and his weight has favorably decreased.
DELTA WORK boasts an admirable record here and poses a significant challenge. Though he appeared slightly rusty on his return at Down Royal last month, he is expected to regain his best form. With Rob James helping him shed 7lbs, he isn’t even carrying top weight.
