Johannesburg – Gautrain is committed to providing safe and efficient transportation for attendees of the sold-out Chris Brown concerts this weekend.
A bus shuttle service will operate between Park Station and FNB Stadium.
“To ensure secure and easy travel for concert-goers attending the Chris Brown concerts on December 14 and 15, 2024, Gautrain will offer a dedicated late-night service along with bus shuttles connecting Park Station and FNB Stadium,” said Gautrain management.
“While the regular Gautrain service concludes at 20:30, the specialized late-night service will start after the concert, with the last train leaving Park Station at 00:00,” they added.
“Standard Gautrain train, bus, and parking fares will be applicable for this service.”
The Gautrain operations for the Chris Brown concerts are part of a broader public transport initiative involving various providers in the province, designed to handle the anticipated large crowds.
According to Tshepo Kgobe, CEO of the Gautrain Management Agency, the Gautrain is fulfilling its essential role in providing an efficient public transport service that caters to daily commuting needs as well as significant social, sports, and lifestyle events in Gauteng.
“The integrated public transport solutions for the Chris Brown concerts will help alleviate road congestion and the risk of accidents, while encouraging more people to use public transport instead of their vehicles,” Kgobe noted.
Key details of the Gautrain service are as follows:
- A bus shuttle service running between Park Station and FNB Stadium
- First bus departs Park Station for FNB Stadium at 11:00
- Last bus leaves FNB Stadium for Park Station at 23:30
