Molemole – Tragically, seven lives were lost in a heartbreaking multi-vehicle crash involving several cars on the N1 road, close to Ga Phasha village in the Molemole Municipality of the Capricorn District, Limpopo.
A minibus taxi with passengers was among the seven vehicles involved in the accident on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety reported: “Seven individuals sadly lost their lives at the scene, while five others were injured. The injured individuals were taken to a hospital for medical attention.”
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC Violet Mathye expressed her profound sadness regarding the “terrible accident that occurred in the early hours of the morning.”
In the wake of this tragic incident, the road at Ga Phasha village has been closed.
Motorists are urged to find alternative routes.
The cause of the multi-vehicle crash is presently under investigation.
On behalf of the department and the wider Limpopo community, she “conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones in mourning.”
She further highlighted, “Road safety is a collective responsibility for everyone.”
