
Former UFC fighter Mateus Mendonca was quickly rushed to the hospital after suffering a fractured penis during a training session.
The incident took place during grappling practice and is expected to sideline Mendonca for around two months.

In an interview with MMAFighting, he described: “I was training with a teammate when his knee accidentally hit my penis; the pain was excruciating, prompting me to head to the bathroom.”
“While in Sao Paulo recently, I noticed something was not right; there was a significant swelling.”
“My girlfriend insisted I go to the hospital, where they performed an ultrasound and then referred me to another facility for emergency surgery.”
Mendonca is currently auctioning off some of his past UFC memorabilia to help cover costs during his recovery since he is unable to fight or coach.
He elaborated: “The doctor has advised me against training or teaching for the next two months.”
“I must remain at home and avoid all activities. I’m unable to train or coach, so I’m raffling my gear to help generate some income.”
“I have a young daughter, and I relocated my family to Sao Paulo to pursue training.”
The Brazilian fighter holds an 11-3 record and has competed in three bouts within the UFC.

He achieved victory against Ashiek Ajim in 2022 during the Contender Series, which earned him a place in the UFC, but he unfortunately lost all three of his UFC matches.
He was defeated by Javid Basharat, Nate Maness, and Jesus Aguilar but secured a comeback with a win over Luan Matheus in October.
