Darts Enthusiast Unveils Plans Following £60,000 Victory
Damon Heta’s remarkable nine-darter today led to one lucky fan snagging a remarkable £60,000 reward – the second prize awarded during the World Darts Championship as part of PaddyPower’s The BIGGER 180 campaign.
The fortunate winner disclosed his intentions for the winnings to PaddyPower.
Mauro, a 37-year-old devoted darts fan and educator, made the trip all the way from Switzerland to witness the event.
Reflecting on his victory and future goals, he expressed: “I told my family and friends I would fund the entire trip if I won, but I never imagined it would actually happen. I’m absolutely over the moon and ecstatic!”
“This is our third visit to Alexandra Palace. We came to enjoy some football and darts – it’s been an amazing outing with friends, and winning this just makes it even better.”
“I’ve recently taken over my family home.”
“We plan to use the £60,000 to install new windows; it might seem a bit mundane, but we really need them for the house!”
“I’ll also cover all expenses for my friends and buy some extra beers! That’s the plan!”
Paddy Power is also donating £1,000 for every 180 scored during the tournament, while encouraging 180,000 men to complete Prostate Cancer UK’s 30-second online risk checker.
