Makwassi – Renowned artist Makhadzi has pointed fingers at the promoter for her absence at the Makwassi Stadium in the North West.
On Boxing Day, (Thursday, 26 December 2024), chaos ensued as fans vandalized the stadium upon learning that the “One Woman Show” singer would not be taking the stage.
Angry supporters set fire to the stage, leading to significant destruction of the sound equipment.

In a statement issued on Friday, (27 December 2024), Makhadzi Entertainment placed the blame on the promoter for not meeting their contractual obligations.
“It is essential to highlight that Makhadzi and her team only receive information about events once all payments have been confirmed, as specified in the contract,” the statement asserted, clearly assigning the responsibility for the failed show to the promoter.
Makhadzi Entertainment noted that while a deposit had been received, the outstanding payments were not completed within the required two-week timeframe.
This resulted in Makhadzi Entertainment being unable to notify the Limpopo-born artist about her booking for the Boxing Day event in the North West.
“We did not receive the outstanding balance within the 14 days,” confirmed Makhadzi Entertainment.
“We sincerely apologize to our loyal fans in Makwasa.”
Makhadzi Entertainment did not rule out the potential for a future performance in Makwassi.
“We look forward to seeing you all soon,” the statement concluded.
Nonetheless, it remains unclear who will be responsible for the damages inflicted on the stadium, stage, and sound equipment.
