RUBEN AMORIM is reportedly pushing for Manchester United to sign Viktor Gyokeres WITHOUT HESITATION.
The manager at Old Trafford is said to be deeply concerned about United‘s deficiency in attacking options, prompting him to seek significant investment this month rather than waiting until the summer.
Gyokeres, 26, remains under contract with Sporting Lisbon until 2028, featuring a release clause estimated at around £80 million.
Amorim is reportedly willing to part with both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee as he aims to significantly revamp his attacking setup.
Gyokeres is viewed as the leading candidate for these possible openings.
The Swedish forward has had a stellar season, netting 26 goals in just 24 appearances.
This includes a stunning hat-trick during Sporting’s 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League two months ago.
Reports suggest that Sporting would entertain offers in the range of £62 million to £70 million for Gyokeres at the end of the current season.
If Manchester United were to make a strong bid this month, it’s likely that £80 million would be the starting point needed to satisfy the Portuguese club’s demands.
Amorim may also seek to strengthen his defensive roster, particularly at left-back.

The club is also rumored to be interested in Benfica’s Alvaro Fernandez, although the £25 million buy-back option for the 21-year-old won’t activate until next summer.
Meanwhile, £86 million signing Antony seems poised to leave as United, currently standing at 14th place, looks to reconstruct their roster.
Ruben Amorim says Man Utd face a relegation battle
Former club Ajax, Fenerbahce, and Real Betis are closely monitoring the Brazilian winger.
A loan transfer this January is certainly a possibility for the 24-year-old.
