A group of fans from Bournemouth has been praised on social media for gifting a ticket to the World Darts Championship to a homeless person.
Some supporters of the Cherries ended up with an extra ticket for quarter-final night at Ally Pally on Wednesday after a friend could not make it.
Instead of selling the ticket or keeping it for themselves, the fans made the commendable choice to offer it to a homeless individual.
Sporting sombreros, the fans presented the ticket to the man and invited him to spend the evening with them.
The Metro also reported that they covered all his expenses for the evening and arranged his stay at a Travelodge hotel, ensuring he wouldn’t have to sleep outdoors.
This heartwarming story quickly spread online, earning thousands of likes.
Users on social media commended the Bournemouth supporters for their generosity.
One user commented: “As a Villa fan, I want to salute how football fans are demonstrating their empathy. Kudos to you, Bournemouth fans.”
Another added: “You’re all legends. What an incredible gesture! If only everyone could emulate you.”
