Modimolle – A 16-year-old girl is slated to appear at the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo, facing accusations of murdering her 24-year-old boyfriend.
The event reportedly transpired on New Year’s Day around 5:20 AM, during a confrontation between the pair.
According to police reports, the dispute ignited when the 24-year-old victim found his girlfriend with another man.
In a fit of rage, he assaulted his 16-year-old girlfriend until she was able to break free.
The authorities further noted that the man chased after the teenager and attacked her once more.
“She took a knife from her bag and stabbed her boyfriend, inflicting serious injuries,” the police report stated.
“He tried to make his way home but collapsed due to his stab wounds at the junction of Moloantoa and Selemela streets in Extension 8 Phagameng, in an open field in Modimolle.”
It was friends of the victim who found his body.
Emergency Medical Services reached the location, and paramedics confirmed the man’s death.
“A murder investigation has been initiated,” the police statement disclosed.
“The 16-year-old girl has been apprehended and is scheduled to appear on January 3, 2024, at the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court.”
