Pretoria – The Facebook account of Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has been compromised, as reported by her department.
On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the department expressed its “deep concern” regarding the unauthorized access to Minister Kubayi’s Facebook account.
“An individual or group has unlawfully accessed the account, using it to solicit potentially illegal opportunities and send messages about project prospects to unsuspecting individuals,” the department stated.
“The ministry condemns these unlawful activities and urges the public to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to this scam.
“Please be informed that Minister Kubayi has not sent any messages regarding project opportunities to anyone.”
The department warned that impersonating the minister or any other person is a serious criminal offense.
The department also stated that it will notify the relevant authorities and social media platform owners about this incident to facilitate prompt action to prevent further illegal activities.
“We encourage the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately,” the department advised.
