Lehlohonolo Seema, the head coach of Sekhukhune United, provided his thoughts on players Keletso Makgalwa and Katlego Otladisa, noting that Makgalwa appears to have regained his form as a valuable member of the Limpopo squad.
Following a solid 2-0 victory over AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday, Sekhukhune has risen to fourth place in the Betway Premiership, tallying 20 points from 11 matches.
Seema expressed his pleasure with the team’s display, praising his technical staff for their accurate evaluations of opponents and lauding the players for maintaining focus during critical moments, successfully scoring at the end of both halves.
Another standout performance was seen from former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Makgalwa, who has become a key component of the Limpopo team’s tactics this season, achieving his 10th start out of 11 matches.
The former Polokwane City coach reflected on Makgalwa’s journey, stating that he has always valued him highly, even during times when others thought he had underperformed in South Africa’s top league.
“It’s truly inspiring to see a player, once thought to be past his peak, rejuvenate his career. His talent has always been evident—it just needed a chance, some support, and an opportunity to flourish. He is fully embracing this moment, and his teammates are as well,” remarked Seema.
The 44-year-old coach then discussed the new winger, Otladisa, who has recently joined the team on a six-month loan from Orlando Pirates.
Seema expressed his approval of the acquisition, giving Otladisa his first start against Polokwane City last weekend, where he played the full match, earning praise from the coach for his performance.
“With Otladisa, it’s clear that we secured him during this transfer window, and his performance is a testament to his confidence and energy, which positively impacts the team. I’m also delighted for our striker Andy Boyeli, who has now netted his second league goal,” he added.
As the January transfer window has been open for nine days, Sekhukhune stands out as one of the few teams that has already made a move in the market with Otladisa’s loan signing.
However, the coach noted that, despite not having yet discussed it with management, there may be areas of the squad that require some adjustments.
“In football, uncertainty is the only certainty. I haven’t had a chance to discuss it with my management yet, but as a technical team, we are always communicating. We’ll see if one or two changes are necessary; it’s a continual process,” he concluded.
