
Pienaar – Two people have died from gunshot wounds in the hospital, raising the total number of fatalities from the tragic shooting at a tavern in Pienaar on Saturday morning to eight.
Six victims were killed immediately when assailants opened fire at the venue during the early hours in Mpumalanga.
Numerous others were injured and taken to the hospital.
One individual has been discharged, while two remain hospitalized.

As per Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, authorities found vehicles with bullet damage at the crime scene.
“Two VW Polo cars were discovered at the location with bullet holes, and one of the deceased was located inside one of the vehicles,” Lieutenant Colonel Ndubane reported.
“The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
Lieutenant Colonel Ndubane mentioned that no arrests have been made to date, but a specialized team has been assembled to investigate the deadly shooting.
Mpumalanga Acting Police Commissioner Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi voiced his concern, stating: “We are greatly disturbed by the recent shooting incidents in our province, and we are working diligently to ensure that those responsible are swiftly brought to justice.”
Mpumalanga Health MEC Sasekani Manzini added: “The department will continue to monitor the recovery of the two remaining patients receiving treatment.
“Initially, five patients were admitted; one died on arrival and another passed away hours later.
“One patient is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, while another is in stable condition. Only one patient has been released from the hospital.”
