This week, Mark Zuckerberg presented a rare Swiss watch estimated to be worth around $900,000 in a video where he discussed his company’s choice to end third-party fact-checking on its US social media platforms.
The chairman of Meta Platforms Inc. is seen donning a Greubel Forsey ‘Hand Made 1’ on his left wrist in the video shared on Facebook on Tuesday, where he announced the changes in policy.
This watch is remarkably rare and expensive, with Greubel Forsey SA producing only two or three ‘Hand Made 1’ pieces each year, priced at $895,500 before taxes.

A representative from Meta declined to provide comments.
Recently, Zuckerberg has taken an interest in mechanical Swiss watches, displaying a wide range of intricate timepieces over the past year.
Throughout the year, the billionaire has been spotted wearing watches from renowned brands such as Patek Philippe and FP Journe.
However, the Greubel Forsey model he sports denotes a deeper appreciation for the artistry of watchmaking. The brand produces only a few hundred timepieces annually, remaining relatively obscure outside of the most dedicated and wealthy collectors.
The model featured in the video is primarily made from components manufactured by Greubel Forsey, with hundreds of hours invested in assembling and hand-finishing each watch.
When asked for comments on the Meta chairman’s latest addition to his collection, Greubel Forsey CEO Michel Nydegger stated: “It’s a pleasure to see someone who has significantly influenced the modern digital landscape and lifestyle display genuine appreciation for the traditional craft of fine watchmaking today.”
Nydegger took on the role of CEO of Greubel Forsey last year after the company revised its strategy to significantly boost production while lowering the average prices from approximately $500,000 per watch.
