JAKE PAUL seems to have hinted at a possible matchup with Tyson Fury right before the unexpected announcement of the British boxing champion’s retirement.
Fury, whose brother Tommy secured a win over Paul in 2023, took to social media to disclose his choice to exit the sport.
In response to Fury’s retirement, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul made an ambiguous comment regarding a possible match with the Gypsy King.
In a now-deleted tweet, he stated: “Well, that’s the big reveal. It seems we need to redirect our focus to the other Fury.”
Fury has recently experienced back-to-back defeats against Oleksandr Usyk, 37, and now appears to be backing out of a fight with Anthony Joshua, 35.
The 36-year-old announced on Instagram: “Hello everyone, I’ll keep this short. I’m announcing my retirement from boxing.
“It’s been an amazing journey, and I’ve cherished every moment. I’ll conclude with this – Dick Turpin wore a mask.
“God bless everyone, and see you on the other side.”
Meanwhile, Paul, 27, recently emerged victorious against Mike Tyson, 58, in a controversial match last November, which faced backlash due to the notable age gap.
The American is currently gearing up for his next fight, with rumors suggesting it could involve Fury’s brother Tommy.

Tommy, who narrowly won against Paul by split decision in Saudi Arabia, has withdrawn from a fight against Darren Till, 32, following threats from the former UFC competitor.
The 25-year-old ex-Love Island star has indicated that he is now on the lookout for a new opponent.
This comes after Paul accused Fury of rejecting a £6.3 million ($8 million) offer for a Netflix rematch.
Tyson Fury announces his retirement from boxing, concluding with a cryptic statement about ‘Dick Turpin wearing a mask,’ leaving the future of the Anthony Joshua fight ambiguous.
