Tennis sensation Danielle Collins took a jab at the Australian Open audience, calling them “super drunk” after her win against Destanee Aiava.
Collins secured a victory with scores of 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 in the women’s singles second round.
The 31-year-old American athlete cupped her hand to her ear, blew kisses to the crowd, and playfully tapped her backside following her victory over Aiava.
Collins expressed, “While playing, I thought, since I’m here, I might as well take advantage of that nice paycheck.”
“We enjoy a luxurious vacation, so a significant portion of that will go toward that.”
“Thank you everyone for coming out tonight and showing us your support. I love you all.”
She continued, “I noticed quite a few fans in the stands seemed rather inebriated, struggling to contain their excitement.”
Collins, the 10th seed in the tournament, has already earned £147,000 ($180,000) by advancing to the third round.
She remarked: “Well, since I’ll be here for a few hours interacting with these folks, I might as well make the most of my earnings, right?”
“I genuinely enjoyed that—the best part about being a professional athlete is that even those who may not favor you or even dislike you are somehow helping to offset your costs.”

“It’s a captivating concept, and I understand my career won’t last forever; it serves as a daily reminder that they contribute to my financial success.”
“Everyone who purchases a ticket and comes to boo or heckle me is inadvertently supporting the Danielle Collins fund. So bring it on, I appreciate it.”
Collins—who recently retracted her decision to retire at the end of the season—intends to take a lavish vacation to the Bahamas with her friends.
She stated: “My friends and I are fond of five-star experiences, so I can guarantee that my next paycheck will be spent on an extravagant getaway, ideally to the Bahamas.”
“We love boats. Big boats. We have a penchant for yachts. Yes, we’ll keep you posted on our adventures.”
