Netball Series: SuperSport to Broadcast Live Matches with South Africa and Jamaica

Johannesburg SuperSport has secured the broadcasting rights for the Netball Series between Jamaica and South Africa.

In a succinct announcement made on Saturday, (18 January 2025), SuperSport expressed its enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to announce that Your World of Champions, SuperSport, has acquired the broadcast rights for South Africa’s tour of Jamaica for the three-Test Margaret Beckford Sunshine netball series.”

The series is set to commence in Kingston, Jamaica, on Sunday, (19 January 2025).

The Spar Proteas wrapped up the year 2024 on a high note, finishing as the top-ranked team in Africa.

Now, they are set to compete against the Sunshine Girls, who are the third-ranked team in the world, following Australia and New Zealand.

The matches in Jamaica are slated for January 19, 23, and 26, taking place at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.

This series is part of SuperSport’s prominent global #HereForHer initiative, which seeks to uplift and celebrate women’s sports and their participation in athletics.

The #HereForHer initiative was launched during the 2023 Netball World Cup held in South Africa, marking a historic moment for SuperSport as the first broadcaster globally to deploy an all-female (120-member) production crew for an international tournament.
