VWA Crypto Surges After ‘Simpsons Prediction’ Amid Cautionary Signals

Despite its marketing efforts, the VWA token is not associated with BlackRock or Vanguard Investments, nor has it appeared on The Simpsons.

Summary

  • The small-cap VWA token, also known as Vanguard RWA, saw a notable surge in trading volume and price.
  • This token is unrelated to BlackRock or Vanguard.
  • According to BubbleMaps, there is a significant concentration of ownership among insiders.
  • The Simpsons did not foresee its rise to $1.

The rapid surge of the VWA token, marketed as “Vanguard RWA,” has attracted significant interest from traders, with some even asserting a connection to The Simpsons. On Monday, Oct. 6, the token quickly achieved $1 million in daily trading volume shortly after its launch.

Just four days prior, the SOL-VWA trading pair was added to the Jupiter decentralized exchange. At that time, the VWA token reached a price of $0.007457 and a market cap of $7.4 million. However, many traders are expressing serious concerns about the token.

VWA, also branded as Vanguard RWA, claims to be a real-world asset project that incorporates gold and silver with Solana. Yet, despite its promotional statements, the token has no ties to either Vanguard Investments or BlackRock, as those companies have not referenced it.

Did The Simpsons predict the VWA token rise?

One of the most audacious claims is that the VWA token appeared on the iconic show The Simpsons. Numerous social media accounts on X and Instagram have circulated images supposedly depicting this event in a recent episode.

Images altered to imply they were taken from The Simpsons—although they were never broadcast—are frequently used to generate buzz on social media. Notably, some of these images have previously surfaced with other tokens that have seen sharp declines in value.

Moreover, on-chain data indicates that insiders likely possess a significant portion of the supply. A snapshot from Bubble Maps shows that the top 50 addresses hold between 89% and 90% of ownership. Additionally, most of these addresses are clustered around the smart contract address, pointing to potential insider control.

This ownership concentration, along with the use of hype strategies, indicates that traders should approach this token with significant caution.
