
Pretoria – The Presidency has expressed regret over the recent expulsion of South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool.
In a concise statement issued early on Saturday, (15 March 2025), the Presidency urged “all relevant and concerned parties to maintain established diplomatic decorum in their dealings regarding this issue.”

Vincent Magwenya, spokesperson for President Cyril Ramaphosa, remarked: “South Africa remains committed to nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship with the United States of America.”
